".. no big busses.." erm... are you thinking what I'm thinking? XD police car, tourist bus... ring a bell? Btw, after a lap (say when the parking lot is opened again) would it be advisable to go drive around for a few minutes before parking the car straight away, in order to cool down the brakes better? Last time I went to Hockenheimring TF, afterward my brakes become "uneven" or sth like that, since then it vibrates a little bit almost everytime I brake. Would driving around after a lap prevent this problem? (ofc except the obvious solution, upgrade better brake disc)

Yeah, for me spending some time in that car park at the track entrance, meeting and chatting to like minded people was one of the highlights from the visit to Nürburgring. Oh, and going to near by village to get a sweinesnitzel for dinner :) P.S. back in 2016...

I think the most important thing is to remember that you're not 16 years old any more, and that hormones can kill. Adrenaline is good, but too much testosterone will really screw things up. It's not a driving sim; it doesn't matter that you're not getting cool footage for GRbuild; it's not a moronic 'drifting' video; it doesn't matter that you're not king of the castle or top of the heap. There will always be someone faster than you. ALWAYS. So relax. When other guys pass you, it doesn't matter. Nobody's laughing at you. If you're not Number One, it doesn't matter. If you're just driving an ordinary road car, it doesn't matter. It's not a race. And it's not a Merkin-style drag race, either - something for social inadequates with unresolved size, power and performance issues best dealt with by a sexual psychiatrist. Just savour the driving. Belting down an unrestricted Autobahn is boring. Sustained high speed is no biggie, and no challenge, either. The Nürburgring's different. Special. Enjoy the moments when a pro driver overtakes you at 170 mph. Watch his line through the next corner. Raise an eyebrow. Smile. You've got absolutely nothing to prove. The fact that you're out on the circuit, driving, and not sitting at home in an armchair shouting 'expert' advice at a screen is enough. Have fun. (And maybe some pancakes.)

Hey Misha, I did my first TF Lap in November and wanted to take it carefully but found it hard to concentrate on taking a nice race line without the feeling that I was getting in the way of the faster drivers, any tips on how to practice your race line as a slower driver?

Drive when there are less people on the track, e.g. in the afternoon or on weekdays. Maybe find someone as fast as you and follow their line.

When a car passes you, check before continuing back to your preferred line, as the car might have another car right behind it. Or even multiple cars. Seems obvious, but it’s actually tricky sometimes, to suddenly need to drive off line at speed.

If you can "afford" to speed on public roads, get caught and pay a hefty fine (or worse)...you can afford a lap ticket and have fun safely. Keep it on the track.

The insurance seems to be the most important thing. Because if you overtake on the right or don't respect a rule you can be banned. But imagine if by your oil or coolant you make crash a Performante....or an Enzo ....or a Zonda.... or maybe all 3 and you are not covered......could be a real financial disaster (Gates, Besos, Musk and friends are not involved on this matter 😂)

More simply, is there a way to find out in advance which is being used so I can drive a combined layout or is it luck? Grand prix circuit is usually used after pro races on the track. They keep the grand prix open for public because they dont have to save it for racing

The new GR Yaris is really the new M3 of the ring. When season really kicks off in spring / summer, it will be a Yaris fest 😂 It still is so sureal, the ring without people on the parkinglot. Can’t wait till this stupid covid sh*t is over!

i dont really get why the cars need to be street legal for driving on track or why a big not registered wang isnt allowed i mean it is made for track driving or track oriented modifications that dont fit in the StVZO.
