GR Seat height. They are lifted 90mm, so there is room for rear seat passengers feet.

I imagine the seat mount height is because Toyota recycled parts from other seat bases and the sum of the parts didn't add up to a suitable seat height driving position so they just stuck a chunk of metal to the frame.

Akio Toyoda was quoted (and I can't find the source right now) that the reason the seat is so high is that professional WRC drivers sit as high as possible to get the best forward view, so the seat height makes it more rally-like. Obviously you couldn't sell a production car with one seat up, and the other on the floor, so I guess they set the driver one then matched it for the passenger.

15mm lower then original...is this small amount noticeable? When I drove the GR; I was thinking the seat needed to be lower 30-40mm to be perfect for my size (1.82m).

First of all, Misha, let me tell you, that I enjoy your channel a lot and watch every video. That being said I think with all due respect it seems a bit strange, that there was one video, that didn't show up in peoples newsfeed and also a car friday one, which there are a ton of on other channels aswell and at the same time a video that will always pop up, if some one were to search car Friday 2021 or something... So what I'm getting at is that it seems like you wanted to launch that subscription package thing anyway and were looking to justify that by hiding one of your videos. I wanna clarify, that I don't know of this is possible, nor do I accuse you of doing so, it's just something, that crossed my mind, when you immediately had this solution, after you ranted a whole day about one video not being displayed as usual and everything going back to normal the very next day.

AR-1's tend to run wide, as in a 265 is more like a 275. We got the new Nankang CR-1 over here in the USA and they are similar. I went with square 245's on an S2000 cuz they're more like 255's, and I wanted to avoid rolling the fenders (though I had to roll the left front due to rubbing).

Plausible reason for the high seat position: airbags. The mount towers are exactly the same as in the normal Yaris. Dash (steering wheel) position vs the OEM seat position is also the same as the normal Yaris. The only thing different is the volume of the curtain airbags, due to the lower roofline. So, in the end: it's a cost-thing on this low-volume car.

yep, starting snowing again here in Norway too. We're on the south west coast of Norway, so snowy winters isn't actually normal here, especially not in friggin' April....

I had actually changed my winter tires to summer tires about 2 weeks ago, but had to change them back to winter tires this weekend. I am glad I did, wasn't expect this kind of weather anymore but we had similar weather in the Netherlands.

Well. I don’t know about crazy weather. When I was stationed in Germany I changed my winter tires out till may. Then slapped them back on late October. O to O as some Germans mights say. Great videos and enjoy the weather 😂

@Misha Charoudin Sounds much better :) When I changed the 964 to recaro PPs you could feel the car under your butt, but I still have to pull out the cushions to fit "just" in with a helmet. Luckily we both didn't have to wear one when we made an instruction lap together in 2019.
